About me

“When the system doesn’t work for a child, it must be challenged — not accepted.”

Where Education Leadership, Parenthood, and Advocacy Meet. My story...

For over 14 years, I have worked within education, including 11 years in leadership roles, supporting children and young people to overcome barriers and move towards brighter futures. As a Head of Department in a large institution, I have worked closely with some of the most vulnerable learners, and I now hold a senior leadership role within education and now support thousands of young people to build the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to become more employable. Throughout my career, I have always held a deep commitment to inclusion and to ensuring that children with additional needs are not overlooked or left behind.

That commitment became profoundly personal when my daughter was just four years old. A call from her school, explaining that she was hiding under tables during carpet time and covering her ears, marked the beginning of a journey I never expected to take. What followed was years of navigating an exhausting and often overwhelming system, countless meetings, complaints, medical appointments, and mediation sessions, all in pursuit of the support my daughter was legally entitled to. She is autistic and has ADHD and dyscalculia, and securing her diagnosis alongside her EHCP required persistence, resilience, and an unwavering refusal to accept inadequate provision.

Living this journey while working inside the education system has given me a unique and deeply grounded perspective. I know how the system works, where it breaks down, and what meaningful support should look like when it is done well. Combining professional leadership experience with lived SEND advocacy means I understand not only the process, but the emotional toll it takes on families. It is this combination that drives my work today — supporting parents to feel heard, informed, and empowered to challenge barriers and secure the support their children deserve.
